HEALTH AWARENESS CAMP FOR TEENAGERS.

On 5th November, 2013, A Health awareness Camp was organized in Shalom Children’s Home at the School campus. About 150 children (aged 13-18) and the staff of Shalom Home participated in this camp.

Shalom Children’s Home and Bella Health Care jointly organized the Health Awareness Camp in which the expert speakers were Miss.Uma Gusain, Health instructor, Miss.Seema, Clinical Health Instructor and Mr.Rashid Ahmed, The healthcare educator from Bella Health Clinic, Dehradun. The camp was presided by Dr.Rosaline George from Bella Clinic.

Shalom Primary School

Shalom School unearths the world of knowledge and education. SPS aims at providing strong educational base to the children who are underprivileged to go to school. These children are not just rendered education but also the moral values.

Shalom Child Development Centre

SCDC basically focuses on children who live below poverty line. The children of this program areprovided meals, school fees and stationeries, clothes and uniforms, Medical assistance. SCDC also ensures the right kind of development of each child. Presently, 230 are under this program

Shalom Residential Care

Providing shelter to the homeless, Shalom ensures that the children are given proper care, homely environment, education and above all, unconditional love. Children in this program either belong from Leprosy background or are rescued from streets. Presently, there are 80 children in this program.

Women’s Day celebrated with a power-packed counseling workshop

Shalom celebrated women’s day by inviting all the women from nearby village for a workshop held by Mrs.Sushma Kumar on how to defense and protect themselves and their daughters from sexual abuse. The workshop included several activities like Question and Answer round, Audio-Video presentation etc. Mrs. Kumar also spoke on importance of girl child education.“It is very important for a mother to know how to protect herself and her daughter in an environment where they are vulnerable. I could see the glimpse of confidence in the eyes of these women after this workshop” Said Mrs.Kumar.

Shalom celebrates Christmas 2013

Lighting up the town, Shalom celebrated Christmas with zeal and happiness on 24th December 2013. The program contained various choreography performances, carol singing and Nativity play. The chief guest for this event was Mr.K.C Nautiyal, Sr.Br.Manager of Punjab National Bank. “If you want to know the real meaning of Christmas, celebrate it with Shalom” Said Mr.Nautiyal. The event was followed by a special feast which was enjoyed by the children and guests. Later the evening, children were distributed warm clothes, blankets and shoes as Christmas gifts to beat the chilled weather.
